Concerned about the musty smell of your water in Assonet?

We purchase water from the City of Fall River who supplies water from the North Watuppa Pond.  Each spring the pond experiences an
annual churning...warm surface water sinks and cool bottom water surfaces based on thermal
activity...this causes that musty smell.  This
typically lasts about a month.  While Fall River does treat water for bacteria and other natural
elements it does not treat for smell or taste.

Your water is disinfected, tested daily, and is
completely safe.

We are bleeding hydrants in four locations in Assonet and water will move continuously into November.  We are not charged for water used for bleeding our lines.
