A Veterans' Service Officer (VSO) works out of every City and Town Hall in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is knowledgeable about various federal, state and local benefits that veterans and their dependents may be entitled to receive. His or her job is to help Veterans in the community learn about, apply for, and in some cases receive benefits. Every VSO must be a veteran. VSO's are required to complete applications for M.G.L. Chapter 115 benefits when clients request even if the VSO indicates that they may not be entitled. Chapter 115 offers a variety of needs based financial and medical assistance for both Veterans and their dependents.
Robert Klevecka can be reached through his email address, phone or by writing to the Veterans Service P.O. Box 438, Assonet, MA 02702.
The Veteran's Agent is appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
Any questions regarding benefits should be referred to your Town Director of Veterans' Services and Veterans' Agent Mr. Robert Klevecka.
