Freetown Water Bleeding Program 2023
Per MassDEP, permanent bleeders have been installed in Assonet.

The Freetown Water & Sewer Commission has
installed permanent bleeders in Assonet as
directed by MassDEP.
This program allows us to continue to provide clean, potable water to our customers without building a multimillion dollar filtration system.
The water received from the City of Fall River is safe and within all state regulated guidelines which we then pass along to our
Assonet customers.
There are four permanent below grade bleeders located in Assonet and they will be running
continuously through November.
