Notification System

At the Annual Town Meeting on June 5, 2018, the Freetown voters voted to approve a phone/text notification system, to be used to notify residents of upcoming Town Meetings, elections, events, etc. This system is powered by OneCallNow (very similar to the system utilized by the regional school system).

To aid in sign-ups, the Selectmen's office has set up a Google Form to collect the information needed to sign up. Information gathered will be uploaded to the database before any notifications are sent out. This information will be used for this purpose only. Please be sure to read the information on the Form, as it includes a few restrictions for this service. Please click here to be taken to the sign-up form!

This service will not be utilized for emergency notifications (Amber Alert, weather emergencies, evacuation orders, etc). The Freetown Police handle notifications like that. Please click here for information on their emergency alert system.

Social Media

The Town Administrator's Office has also put together a brief tutorial how to ensure that the Town's Facebook updates appear first in your timeline. To view that, please click here.

Twitter: @FreetownMA

Set up years ago by a previous Town Administrator but not utilized until recently, the Town is now on Twitter! The account currently cross-posts the Facebook updates, but some Twitter-specific content could be utilized in the future, taking advantage of some of the strengths of that platform. Make sure to follow and stay tuned!

YouTube: Board of Selectmen on YouTube

Most Selectmen's meetings, Building Committee/Police Sub-Committee and all Town Meetings, are filmed and broadcast on Public Access TV. Once the video files are ready, they are also uploaded to a dedicated YouTube channel. Make sure to subscribe!

Town Calendar

The calendar on the home page has an option that allows you to subscibe to the calendar and import it directly into your calendar or smartphone. Simply clicking the orange box on the calendar page (or this link directly) from the device you wish to subscribe on should initiate the process automatically.
