What Can I Get from the Office of the Town Clerk?

A variety of these documents may be available from the Office of the Town Clerk:

  • Certified version of U.S. Birth Certificate ($10 per copy) - if you were born in Freetown or lived in Freetown upon your birth, we may have that record. More information can be obtained at the link provided.
  • Certified copy of Marriage Certificate ($10 per copy) - your marriage certificate lives where you filed your marriage intentions ahead of your marriage. If you filed your marriage intentions here in Freetown, the Town of Freetown will have your marriage certificate. If you were married in Freetown but filed elsewhere, we will not have that marriage certificate. If you are unsure if you filed your intentions here in Freetown, please give the Office of the Town Clerk a call (508-644-2201 ext. 2), and we can check our records.

Important: If you have had multiple name changes, you'll need documentation tracing your name back to birth.
