Election Information

Bristol-Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical School District Committee members are required to be residents and registered voters of their member city/town. They shall be elected for a two-year term in the district-wide biennial state elections (November elections in even-numbered years). Candidates for the Committee shall appear on the ballot of each member town, after being properly nominated by 50 registered voters from any member city/town (on separate, city/town-specific nomination forms) and after the time for objecting to nomination papers has expired.  Nomination Papers are available at the District Office or the Elections Division of the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Office.  Please see below for the 2024 filing deadlines. A person shall be declared elected to the Committee only if they have received the highest number of votes cast for the office in all of the member towns.  The Town Clerks from each member town shall forward to the district clerk a certified copy of the elections results, and the district clerk shall declare the results.  The persons so elected shall be sworn into office by the Town Clerk in the town in which they are registered to vote.
