Conservation Commission
The Conservation Commission is charged with enforcing the State Wetlands Laws. The Conservation Commission is appointed by the Board of Selectmen. Each member is appointed for three year term. The Conservation Commission also appoints a Town Forest Committee to help it manage its properties.
Freetown does not have a Conservation Agent. The board is staffed by a part-time clerk and inquiries of the type normally referred to an agent are referred to the chairman for further help and guidance.
