Abutters Lists

Abutters lists are often needed for projects filed with the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, or Conservation Commission, as well as some hearings held by the Board of Health or Board of Selectmen.

Abutters lists can be requested in person or by e-mail. E-mail is preferred as it gives time to prepare your list before you arrive; otherwise, you may have to wait or be asked to return later.

Please make sure your request includes the distance being sought; it is the responsibility of the person making the request to provide the needed distance, staff will not make a determination.  If you are advised that you only need abutters to a portion of your property, you must provide our office with a plan showing your project area and a letter from the department verifying you only need abutters to a portion of your property.

The cost for an abutters list is $10.00 for every 50 abutters, payable in cash or by check.  Payment is required before your list is released.

Effective January 22, 2024, abutters lists expire after 30 days.  Lists older than 30 days should be discarded and a new list should be requested.
