Starting Monday, June 28th, we are excited to introduce curbside bi-weekly single-stream recycling to Freetown! Single-stream recycling means that all recyclable material and newspaper can be picked up together.
Freetown Recycles Stickers are available only at the Freetown Town Hall or Foster's Hardware.
All Recyclable Material must be placed in a Recycling Barrel! A Recycling Barrel can be any barrel with a Freetown Recycles Sticker attached. Stickers will be provided by the Town.
WHAT CAN BE RECYCLED CURBSIDE: Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs, Telephone Books, Soft Cover Books, Junk Mail/Envelopes, Paper, Paperboard (cereal/shoe boxes), Flattened Cardboard, Brown Paper Bags, Plastics Marked #1 through #7, Glass Bottles/Jars, Aluminum (pie plates/trays), Metal Cans (tin, steel, aluminum).
WHAT CANNOT BE RECYCLED CURBSIDE: No Plastic Bags, No Ceramics, No Dishes, No Pyrex, No Mirrors, No Windows, No Auto Glass, No Unmarked Plastics, No Coat Hangers, No Light Bulbs, No Foam Packaging or Styrofoam, No Motor Oil or Antifreeze Containers, No Paint Cans, No Aerosol Cans, No Cell Phones, No Appliances, No Pots or Pans, No Furniture, No Batteries, No Building Products, No 5-Gallon Pails, No Cables or Wires.
*****ONLY RECYCLABLE MATERIAL ACCEPTED IN YOUR RECYCLING BARREL***** Please rinse out all plastics before you place them in your Recycling Barrel!
At the same time we will be introducing a weekly Pay As You Throw Bag Program. All household trash will now be required to be in an Official Town Bag. Cost Per Bag: 15gal = $1.25; 33gal = $2.50 (sold in 5 Bag sleeves)
