Treasurer

The Town Treasurer is responsible for the deposit, investment and disbursement of town funds. The treasurer is authorized to issue debt authorized by town meeting, or statute, on behalf of the town, wit approval of the Selectmen. The treasurer determines the cash needs of the town and determines what is available to invest and when money needs to be borrowed to meet expenses. While only the treasurer can sign checks to pay the town's bills, the treasurer cannot release any funds until the warrant is prepared by the town accountant and approved by the Selectmen. The treasurer is also responsible for banking relations.
